Next month Anthony Joshua will be defending his IBF heavyweight title, today confirming the 26th November to be the date of official fight night. With Manchester hosting the event the champ wants to relive his previous Northern defeat, recording a third-round victory over Konstantin Airich in September 2014.

The British boxer’s next opponent will not be named until the 26th September, with the world of sport desperate to find out who will be entering the ring with the Londoner. Equally as excited Joshua today released a statement, continuing with his conventional trash talk whilst sharing some admirable words regarding the Olympics.

“When I first started my professional career I travelled all round the country fighting, which I loved. This is taking me back to the grass roots.

“I can’t wait to get back up north”

“I have been inspired over the summer by the fighters in the Olympics. It has given me a new perspective and huge hunger to get back in ring.”

Eager to conjure up people’s excitement already Joshua promises to deliver another great night.

“It has taken a bit of time to officially announce the fight. We want this to be a spectacular show, all the way up the card and it takes time to get these things right.”
