Every summer London is inundated with beautiful vehicles, seeing the streets of areas like Mayfair peppered with some of the most beautiful cars the world has to offer.
This week the residents of Mayfair enjoyed views of chrome Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarens, silver Lamborghini Aventadors and much more, kicking off what we now call ‘supercar season’. Mostly Arab-owned the cars are part of a 100-strong convoy that is flown into London each Summer, with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia car owners coming over to London for the summer months.
Using The Dorchester as their backdrop the cars stood out like sore thumbs, an intentional display of wealth that we in London are rather used to now.
A race to rich
While these cars are no doubt some of the greatest cars ever made each car is there to outdo the next, with these Arabic riches not afraid to spend hundreds and thousands of pounds simply to get from A to B. Just last year we saw a Mercedes with Swarovski crystals and a £1million Pagani Huayra attracting passers-by.
Likened to ‘spaceships’ the cars are just an example of the excessive nature of these people, renowned for posting their extravagant lifestyle all over social media platforms. Posing with jewellery, women and in some cases tigers we cannot help but think the London life may be a little slow for these holidaymakers.
Here are just a few examples of the cars Mayfair has the pleasure of welcoming this week.
