Special edition Rolls-Royce commissioned by Roger Daltrey to celebrate British music

As part of the brand’s “Inspired by British Music” collection, rock legend Roger Daltrey has teamed up with Rolls-Royce to commission two one-off Rolls-Royce Wraiths.

The brand’s music theme is using the Wraith as a way of celebrating the musician, his career and music. However, most of the impressive references to the legend can be seen inside the car.

Known as a member of rock band, The Who, Daltreys signature has been embroidered on each headrest, and the interior door panels have been marked with lines from famous songs such as, “Join Together” and “I Can See for Miles”.

Rolls-Royce’s edition of the Wraith has said to be a remarkable tribute to The Who and Roger Daltrey. Although, Daltrey won’t be getting the car himself as it’s planned to be sold with roughly half of the price being directed to numerous charities. The main charity which will benefit from the sale is said to be The Teenage Cancer Trust.

Reportedly, Roger Daltrey enjoyed his involvement with the project so much that he commissioned a second car. The first car is said to be a celebration of his own music, whilst the second concentrates on “Tommy”- one of The Who’s most poignant works. According to the company, artist Mike McInnerney worked closely with them to recreate the original album artwork so it could be placed on the hood of the Rolls Royce Wraith.

Rolls Royce says more celebrities are lined up to work with them on their special editions. They are definitely keeping busy as it wasn’t long ago they released the gorgeous Sweptail. This motor was also a bespoke creation and cost just over £12 million to build. Speculators have said this may have been the most expensive car the manufacturer has ever sold.

So, if you are interested in music, celebrities and luxurious cars then you may want to keep an eye on which edition Rolls-Royce has next in line.
