Aston Martin step into the world of footwear

It has been revealed that luxury supercar company Aston Martin is to partner with Italian footwear brand Hogan. According to reports the pair will work together on a range of limited edition sneakers.

Available to order at the end of June, the ‘Aston Martin x Hogan’ sneaker will come in a range of four colours which will represent autumn/winter.

Sticking to the existing Hogan design the sneaker will be formed from leather, and covered in nylon mesh. This will avoid movement restriction.

There will be some noticeably different features to the design than your ordinary Hogan shoe. One of these will be a kestrel tan leather tongue, which will be the same cut of leather used in the interiors of Aston Martin cars.

Additionally, there will be an embossed ‘wings’ emblem which is the well known Aston Martin logo.

Until now the car manufacturing company has struggled to take off in the world of fashion, despite its efforts. So far, it offers cashmere socks, premium leather luggage, and a range of motor-inspired clothing. Similarly, to many car companies, Aston Martin also has an ongoing deal with a watchmaker who uses the same materials and design as the cars themselves.

However, the company want to increasingly been seen as luxurious and so is making numerous partnerships to put themselves on that exact map.

“Collaborating with brands that share our views on quality, style and elegance is important to us,” said Marek Reichman, EVP & Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin.

Reports have also stated that it’s also important for Aston Martin to create products for the rich in order to keep their brand’s reputation. This is why in the past they’ve been linked to the likes of Hermes and Louis Vuitton in order to understand the detailed designs of luxurious leathers and products.

“Working with creative teams outside of the automotive industry helps to broaden our designers’ minds,” said Reichman. “We take inspiration from all walks of life and our work with Hogan will help to shape and inspire many aspects of our future creations.”
