Korean brand set to release the Kia Stinger GT to take on BMW, Audi and Mercedes

According to reports, Kia is due to release a very impressive Stinger GT, which is rumoured to become stiff competition for all other luxury car brands.

Estimated at £42,000, the new Kia family saloon is the new high-style, real-wheel drive assault on the market. Given that Kia already sells a four-door saloon, the Optima, you may be wondering what this car could offer the brand. However, according to reports, this motor is going be hugely impressive and one that customers will flock to showrooms for.

Before doubting this concept, you should consider that Kia did sell several times more cars last year than Land Rover, Jaguar and Alfa Romeo combined. Additionally, they have won more design awards over the past decade than ever imagined. So, perhaps this isn’t as ridiculous as we initially thought.

The Kia Stinger is based on Hyundai’s Genesis G80 Coupe. The car is set to be powered by a choice of 2.0-litre turbo or 3.3-litre turbo petrol entries when it comes to the UK in 2018.

While the final specs won’t be released until the end of this year, there have been a few details released of how the model is ticking at the moment.

On the road

According to documents, this car is said to be at its best over long distances. The V6 engine makes the car have more power than either the BMW 440i Gran Coupe or the Audi S4. Additionally, even though the Stinger GT is heavy, it does accelerate well at both high and low revs.

Interior

The Stinger is wide and low in comparison to the many executive saloons it’s set to go up against. However, the view out of the car and slim side windows does resemble the same of a sports car.

The boot can be accessed through a ‘liftback’-type hatchback instead of a saloon type bootlid. This makes the space even more accessible and very generous.
