Ferrari is certainly not going to let its 70^th anniversary pass without a fanfare. That’s exactly why the Prancing Horse is all around the world this week with a series of events to celebrate 70 years of the supercar brand. In the UK, Ferrari is currently in the midst of a nationwide tour, with London being its highest profile event since the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Taking place in the city yesterday, the limited edition LaFerari Aperta took centre stage on its own podium during the event. Power is sourced for this machine from the same 6,262cc naturally-apirated V12 engine as the LaFerrari. It also includes a 0-62mph time of sub three seconds and top speed in excess of 217mph.

The star of the event was organised by H.R Owen, who assembled 70 Ferraris to mark the celebration. H.R Owen is currently advertising one of the 200 LaFerrari’s built on its website.

The customer cars lined up on Waterloo Place. According to reports, its said to have been the largest of its kind to ever grace the city. It’s definitely not everyday that you see that many supercars in one location.

In remarkable style, the dealer company arranged a closure of one of London’s busiest roads. This was so that customers could take the easiest route to the event at ease. Ferrari said: “The group is forever giving back to its customers,”

Whilst London is hugely famous for its black cabs and red buses, the event played a host to a sea of red and black Ferrari supercars.

“The Waterloo Place event really got things going in style,” said the dealer group. “We had some truly amazing models lining up for media, members of the public and enthusiasts to see, with a friendly and lively atmosphere that really portrayed what H.R. Owen is all about.”
