Jaguar Land Rover launches Classic Infotainment Systems for vintage range

Jaguar Land Rover, one of the UK’s most celebrated car-makers have revealed plans to bring some of their iconic classic cars into the 21st century. Using some exciting new infotainment systems, the British car firm will introduce a new range of entertainment and travel information features to many classic Jaguar and Land Rover models.

The updates will be overseen by the group’s official classic car arm, Jaguar Land Rover Classic. to ensure the retro look and feel of these iconic models is preserved. The primary objective of Jaguar Land Rover Classic is to introduce the modern technology into its cars without sacrificing everything that makes these cars revered by car-lovers everywhere.

The Classic Infotainment System unit is set to include smartphone integration with Bluetooth connectivity, a satellite navigation system programmed to 32 languages and both analogue and digital radio.

Both Jaguar and Land Rover will see two different designs to their respective Classic Infotainment System units. Jaguar will come with a choice of black or chrome faceplate finishes whilst Land Rover owners can choose from black or silver brushed aluminium.

Whilst there is a very retro look and feel about the two rotary buttons, there is nothing retro about the 3.5-inch high-resolution touch screen sitting in between them. The modernisation is emphasised most significantly with the addition of 3D maps and real-time traffic alerts on its satnav systems.

With smartphones becoming almost a way of life nowadays, no tech update would be complete without smartphone integration. Mobile phone was merely science fiction when many of these classic Jaguars and Land Rovers rolled off the production line for the first time but to fully bring the classics into 2018, smartphone integration is a must! With full touchscreen capability you can make calls, play music or access the phonebook of up to four devices.

With prices starting from a cool £1,200, classic Jaguar and Land Rover car owners are in for a real treat!
