Harry and Meghan’s wedding Jaguar goes into full production

After receiving an ‘overwhelmingly popular reception’ at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, the Electric Jaguar E-Type is now set to go into full production. Stealing the show at the royal wedding, the car nodded to British tradition whilst providing a modern, eco-friendly transport experience. With all the charms of the original model, paired with an all-electric engine, the vehicle is expected to go down a storm when available to the public.

Last Friday, Jaguar revealed the latest version of the E-Type Zero. Sporting Bronze paint, the car was on display at The Quail; a motorsports event in Monterey. Already taking orders for the E-Type, the first batch of cars is said to be ready for 2020.

But, apart from the electric aspect, how will they differ from the original? Well, the car boasts many differences when it comes to what is under the bonnet. However, when looking at the exterior, much is the same. However, with a mission to attract the modern market, Jaguar has included an updated touchscreen infotainment system, LED headlamps and is a great deal lighter than the Series 1 Jaguar.

But, what does Jaguar have to say about their latest creation?

“The E-Type Zero provides classic car owners and enthusiasts looking for the E-Type style with a zero-emissions option,” says Stuart Schorr, communications vice president at Jaguar Land Rover North America.

“This vehicle also opens up classic car ownership to customers who may have not considered a classic vehicle previously, tapping the brand’s existing fan base as well as a new set of customers.”

What are your thoughts on an all-electric Jaguar E Type? Will the car benefit from being modernised or should we have left the car to be a piece of car manufacturing history?
