Today Land Rover have given us a sneak peak of the 2017 model, revealing just two pictures of the much anticipated car. As the fifth-generation Discovery customers are expecting nothing but perfection, with the car being officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show at the end of the month.
Appearing a lot less ‘boxy’ than the versions that came before it the 4X4 is expecting to impress with regards to 2017 sales, with an impressive number of pre-orders showing customer and industry confidence.
Land Rover is keeping many of the car’s details under wraps, with us hungry car-lovers just having the following comment from Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s chief design officer, to keep us going:
“New Discovery redefines the large SUV. Land Rover’s design and engineering teams have revolutionised the Discovery DNA to create a highly desirable, extremely versatile and hugely capable premium SUV.”
While maintaining that iconic Land Rover look the carmakers have made some changes, with the images revealed showing a wealth of upgrades and alterations. With lower body tapers slightly towards the roof, a new grille that sits higher in the nose and striking LED headlights it seems you can improve on perfection.
Another upgrade is with the chassis, with Land Rover allegedly using the same aluminium chassis that is being used to base the new Range Rover on. Consequently making the car lighter the 2017 Land Rover will therefore be lighter than its predecessors, making it more economical than ever before.
