Rolls Royce offer Isolation Chamber with new cabin separation

Over the years, it has become apparent just how much Rolls Royce value privacy, wanting their passengers to enjoy the private nature of their cars just as much as their luxuriousness. Permitting travellers to lock themselves away from the outside world, the British carmakers have introduced Electrochromatic Glass into their cars; a piece of glass that aims to safeguard the privacy of rear passengers. Separating the front and rear cabins, this glass is in-keeping with the colours and themes of the Rolls Royces in which they sit.

But, this is not just any old piece of glass. Rolls Royce have in fact integrated some incredible tech features into the partition. Controlled by the passenger, occupants of the car will be able to turn the glass from transparent to opaque at their leisure, allowing them to lock out the driver as and when they wish. What’s more is that the glass is also built with sound absorption technology, meaning the driver will not hear a peep from passengers and vice versa. Rolls Royce confirms that the glass “inhibits the transmission of conversations in the rear cabin to the front cabin.”

However, there is a feature that allows the passenger and the driver to call each other if need be.

Rolls Royce claims that this is a feature that is expected to be heavily in demand. At Cars for Stars, we could not agree more, already envisioning the benefits this feature will have on important journeys such as wedding day transport, school proms and business trips. Having already unveiled the Phantom with Electrochromatic Glass at the 2018 Chengdu Motor Show in China, we could expect more models to start including these glass separations in the near future.

Let us know what you think, is privacy just as important as luxury?
