Brand new Bentley Continental GT: Image, specs and details

While the Bentley Continental GT may have only had a facelift recently, underneath the bodywork the car is now approximately 12 years old. So, Bentley have decided to work on a brand new GT, which is set to be available to buyers in 2018.

According to reports, the GT is set to look a lot sleeker than the test versions that have been pictured online. Additionally, there will be several more improvements made to its performance.

Flagship models are set to come powered by a brand new 6.0 litre W12 twin-turbo engine which originally appeared in the Bentayga SUV. The SUV delivered 650bhp and 900Nm of torque. The GT is also set to bring a 0-62mph time of roughly 3.8 seconds, with its top speed being around 210mph. While prices are yet to be confirmed, an estimated figure is speculated to be £155,000.

A more modest and redeveloped version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 is also set to be offered.

The MSB platform which was first used on the new Porsche Panamera is said to be considerably lighter than the architecture of the Continental. It also represents a huge step forward from the VW Phaeton underpinnings of the outgoing model.

It has been said that the GT will shed roughly 100kg due to its new aluminium body, fresh engines and new chassis.

A lower nose and a more sculpted bonnet makes up for the most changes to the front of the GT. We also expect the trademark two-part lights to remain. Additionally, the car is set to be inspired by the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept.

Even though the Continental GT is set to arrive first, the GTC which has been pictured testing alongside the model is set to drop shortly after. Similarly, to the current model it will include a folding fabric roof to hold weight down.

This product is set to be Dürheimer’s plan to increase its annual global sales to roughly 20,000 units by the year of 2020.

We guarantee that this model will be so impressive that customers will be flocking ahead of its release.
