Police believe the cat burglar climbed onto the roof and used mountaineering gear to abseil into the showroom before cutting the garage door lock, and making off with the luxury sports car which is thought to be worth in the region of $200,000.
Given the sophistication of the break-in, the authorities believe the robbery was planned well in advance. However the police believe the thief will be hard pushed to offload the Lamborghini as the vehicle is very recognisable.
The 2008 Lamborghini was stolen from a luxury car dealership in San Francisco this week. It’s believed the TV chef had left the car at the showroom for safe keeping. It’s been reported that the TV personality owns 10 luxury sports cars, including the stolen Lamborghini.
Police have been scouring CCTV footage around the area in attempt to track down the supercar and its thief. The latest sighting of the car seems to suggest it was being driven out of the San Francisco area as one police departments believe they spotted the car on CCTV crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.
