The Rolls Royce brand is renowned for keeping us on our toes. From their surprise entrance into the SUV market with the Rolls Royce Cullinan to their pledge to make all new cars customised, Rolls Royce is a brand that cleverly combines traditional values with modern car needs.
Now, the eccentric brand prepares to launch an all-new version of the famous Rolls Royce Ghost; a car that we at Cars for Stars have enjoyed having in our fleet for many, many years.
While thought to look the part and retain that iconic Roller ‘look’, what exactly can we expect from the 2020 edition?
Well, according to sources, the new generation Ghost will ditch the current platform for an aluminium spaceframe alternative. This will make the car considerably lighter, meaning it will be capable of higher speeds and enjoy improved handling. And, with the current model often criticised for being 2,500 kg and requiring a great deal of fuel to power, this is a change that the industry has welcomed.
The 2020 Ghost will also work with a four-wheel drive set-up, supported by a 6.6-litre V12 twin-turbo engine.
The exterior
Now that we have an idea of what we can expect under the bonnet, what will the car look like? Having seen a few spy images of versions being tested, we immediately notice that the rear-hinged rear doors and large grilles are back! The bright LED headlights have also been kept during the redesign process. Though, these have benefited from improved laser technology, making them more efficient and attractive than ever.
