Rolls Royce Engineer Looses Tribunal Over Claims of Unfair Dismissal

Rolls Royce is not only thought of as the best carmakers of the world but also for offering attractive career opportunities for aspiring Engineers. With such glorious brands comes boundless occupational opportunities with professionals all over the world hungry to get Rolls Royce onto their CV.

With such prestigious firms there are always those out to spoil high-regarded and renowned reputations, putting the hard work and years of service into a detrimental state.

Rolls Royce have this week experienced the wrath of such characters with a senior Engineer voicing claims of unfair dismissal after reportedly identifying manufacture flaws in the Rolls Royce’ fleet.

The man in question has been named as Dr Kurt-Elli who claims he was fired from the firm for being a ‘whistle blower’, releasing information about the company’s problematic jet engines.

Rolls Royce heavily denied these declarations and was supported by judges and many other legal officials.

“We are satisfied the dismissal was not because he made protected disclosures [blew the whistle] but because of his behaviour,” said the judge on the back of a three-week investigation into the firm.

Although a decision has been made this was of no comfort to Dr Kurt-Elli who brands the firm as corrupt, regardless of his lack of concrete evidence.

The judge added: “He believed, and still does, that from his line manager to the chief and board of directors … [everyone is] corrupt. He makes the most serious allegations against all these people. We are satisfied there is not a shred of evidence to substantiate [them].”

Following the ruling a Rolls Royce spokesman talked of the carmakers dedication to their repute.

“Rolls-Royce takes its reputation for excellence seriously and strenuously denied the allegations in this case. The company is pleased that the judge has dismissed all substantive claims and cleared all the individuals against whom allegations were made.

“Thorough investigations were carried out into these allegations by Dr Kurt-Elli at the time, including by senior technical experts in line with the company’s policies and procedures. These concluded that there was no evidence to substantiate safety or product integrity concerns.”

Rolls Royce hope to move on from this case and left us with am honourable statement.

The company’s lawyer, Sean Jones, said: “The whole thing has been a tragedy and we hope that Dr Kurt-Elli will find a way to move on.”
