Rare Bentley Sells for £450,000 After 30 Years in Storage

At Cars for Stars, we love nothing more than hearing about rare cars. This is why we were understandably thrilled to learn of a rare Bentley being discovered. Kept in a garage for over thirty years, this car was owned by a former Lancaster Bomber pilot.

Boasting an interesting backstory, the car was owned by Charles Blackham. This is a man that played a part in the 1955 raid on Hitler’s hideaway in the Bavarian Alps. Known as ‘The Eagle’s Lair’, it’s safe to say that this Bentley owner played a key role in world history.

Having rusted away in a lockup in Stockport, the car has now been given a new lease of life, being sold at auction for an attractive £454,250.

The Bentley was driven around by Blackham for over 36 years before the car became too old and was taken off of the road. Being just one of six ever made, the auction house was overjoyed to list this unique 2.4 litre sports car. However, they initially put the 1936 Bentley on with a guide price of between £150,000 and £200,000, not expecting it to fetch double that!
