lg-audi-watch-android-centralWearable technology has been very fashionable of late with Apple, Samsung and many other technology brands releasing smartwatches into the market.

Successful car manufacturers are always trying their hand as something new. We only have to think of the Lamborghini smartphone to understand how much power and innovation carmakers have.

Although the name for the watch is yet to be confirmed one thing we do know is that unlike LG’s G Watch it does not run on Android but will run on webOS. This is the same technology LG use to power their smartphones with the Palm-developed webOS operating system providing to be pretty fantastic.

AndroidCentral’s report reveals that by pressing the watch’s centre button a list of apps appear, appearing very much like apps do on an LG smartphone. These apps comprise of a dialler, messaging app, music, calendar, email and “LG Health W”.

So where do Audi come into it?

Obviously there is a Audi app which is a highlight of the design. The app is very impressive, allowing Audi owners to unlock their cars via NFC.

The watch also has its own circular phone signal, permitting owners to make and take calls directly from it, not requiring a paired smartphone like many other technology-focused wrist watches do.

Where many other technology watches have been pretty unattractive the Audi watch is far from ugly, sporting a streamlined design that is sleek and very James Bond.

So, what do you think, would you buy an Audi watch?
