As one of the largest transport companies in the country we at Transport Broker Group are always keeping abreast of what Addison Lee is doing, admiring companies that mirror our dedication to customer satisfaction.

This is why we were greatly intrigued by the news of the company shake up, with CEO Liam Griffin stepping down as CEO. Having been with the company for over two decades he will step own to assume the title of Vice Chairman, still existing as the largest shareholder in the company.

Liam Griffin commented; “It has been a pleasure to serve as Addison Lee’s CEO and I am grateful to all of the company’s staff and drivers for everything that they have done to make it the success that it is today. I continue to be excited about the company’s prospects and I look forward to focusing on helping to continue to grow the business and identify targets for acquisition.”

Why the shake up?

With Andy Boland taking the seat as CEO we can only assume that this is a direct response to Uber’s powerful and aggressive tactics, movements that have threatened Addison Lee ever since their expansion into the UK.

“The private hire industry is one of the most exciting and fast moving markets in business at present,” said Boland, who joined AL earlier this year from the AA.

“For many years AL has set the standards in terms of safety, reliability and value, and I’m excited about working with our customers, employees and drivers to ensure that the business continues to grow. We have a great team at AL and I look forward to working in close partnership with Liam Griffin and the rest of the board to deliver our future success.”

Future movements

Planning to venture overseas creating structures to take the business international is now the plan, pursuing business acquaintances and making new contacts.
