Zimbabwe Politician Splashes Half a Million Dollars on Monstrous Custom Limo

More-550(1)Many important figures such as politicians are known for their executive style, oozing with sophistication and class. However, we are seeing more and more public figures breaking the mold.

One Zimbabwean politician has certainly done that, renowned for his collection of amazingly unusual vehicles. Chiyangwa has been subject to much criticism as a result of his latest purchase, spending a whopping half a million dollars on a monster limousine.

Although we at Cars for Stars think it is incredible it seems that the people of Zimbabwe want their politician to not be so showy, appearing to have hit a nerve with the politician.

“If I have knocked out a bank the police will come after me. No one is stopping you from making your own money,” he said.

“How many years have I been driving nice cars to then stop now; under whose instructions? And whose money am I using, is it public funds?

“Why shouldn’t I celebrate? You should not forget that I’m a businessman first and a politician second.Chiyangwa-Tsivo-Merc-new

“I don’t work for the country, I work for myself and my family first and those who work for me; you understand?

Although many comments may be made through jealously Chiyangwa still feels the need to defend himself and his purchases, focusing on the fact that he works hard for his country and his money.

“This (public show of wealth) shows you that this politician is working and I have no apologies to make.

“I’m living my life … this car probably cost me more than half a million dollars … and this is just a transformer – I have also acquired a jet,” Chiyangwa told.

“This is the first of its kind … and the last one; they (manufacturers) only made this one.”

Asked when he would take delivery of the plane, Chiyangwa said: “When you see it you will see it, just as I did not announce the arrival of the Transformer and the Mercedes GL63 AMG.

“I don’t stop my friend; I had a big party where I celebrated my birthday and I am making money; this (the car) is the sign of it.

“I am not going to wait and Zimbabweans must know that this guy ain’t waiting. We must stop waiting; waiting for who?”

Let s know what you think; is this attitude refreshing or offensive? Leave your comments below.

Also, take a look at the video of his incredible new limo.

High Gear Insurance show further signs of Chauffeur Insurance market domination

High Gear LogoHigh Gear Insurance are really going after the chauffeur insurance market having geared up their website to attract the UK’s limo and chauffeur car drivers.

Coming from humble beginnings the Cardiff based company have apparently tripled in size since their explosion onto the scene in 2013.

Company Director, Alex Drummond, is arguably the catalyst of this success, having spent many years working in the luxury chauffeur sector.

‘Knowing the industry inside out it was a natural progression for High Gear to expand into chauffeur car insurance. With limo drivers and people who own wedding cars notoriously paying over the odds to insure their pride and joy I wanted to offer these drivers a solution.

‘With the High Gear panel expanding every single day we are now an incredibly competitive option for chauffeur insurance and we will not stop until will become the one stop shop for all types of insurance policies.’

The company has experienced incredible growth in the taxi insurance market also, being supported by a number of industry officials.

taxi-129094_439x324In a recent article from insurance news platform Lady Motor a journalist honed in on their aggressive approach to online marketing, infamously dominating the search engine for all insurance related searches.

‘Having been in business for over a year they quickly defined their niche as a business, being the best option for taxi insurance and chauffeur insurance policies in the UK. Having such a great product to sell High Gear needed to make sure that taxi drivers would stumble across their website when looking for insurance online.’ said Lady Motor.

Let us know what you think, in the near future will we be turning to High Gear before comparison sites? Leave your comments below.

Competition: Cars for Stars and Wave102 Radio Run ‘Cool to School’ Competition

photo 2 (1)We all remember our first day of school, a nerve-wracking morning with the world of the unknown filling us with anxiety.

With our hairstyle, shoes and pencil case choice being of great importance, the day before ‘big school’ brought us nothing but worry.

The schooling environment is known for being a place in which certain children could show off, especially on days where uniform was excused.

It was for this reason that we all wanted to make a great entrance on day one, with our first impressions being the lasting ones amongst peers.

Last week Cars for Stars partnered with Wave102 Radio, Dundee’s most celebrated musical platform.Renowned for their exclusive competitions Wave102 have always supported local schools and nurseries, giving something back to the Dundee community.

Knowing just how scary that transition from nursery to school can be we decided to run a radio competition with the station, asking parents to vote for the best nursery in the area.photo 3 (1)

The top achievers of the winning nursery received the greatest prize any child could ask for, a limousine ride on their first day of school.

The students cruised their way to the school gates, stunning fellow pupils with their lavish entrance to school life.

Not only did this competition put Dundee’s incredible schools on the map but it also celebrated the fantastic education system that Dundee have in place.

Even children in nursery are illustrating a passion for learning and we at Cars for Stars were grateful to offer them the reward of a limousine.

We would like to thank Radio Wave102 for giving us the opportunity to reward these children and we thoroughly look forward chauffeuring the class of 2015!

The Guardian Commends Limo Broker on Their Prom Car Hire Innovation

Screen Shot 2014-05-19 at 11.12.58Limo Broker, the leading luxury car hire brokerage, has this week featured in the prestigious newspaper, The Guardian.

Being celebrated on their offering of modern prom cars, the subject of extravagant prom celebrations seems to be dominating the news of late, but is this all down to Limo Broker?

Limo Broker is undoubtedly the ones to duplicate when it comes to fleet ownership but have their services made an impact on how students choose to travel?

Showcasing the most beautiful Lamborghini’s, Ferraris and Rolls Royce’s their collection of prom cars are attractive to students all over of the country.

We spoke to Shannon Howe, a student that booked a Rolls Royce Phantom for prom last year with Limo Broker.

‘I wanted a black Rolls Royce Phantom for prom as I knew Kim Kardashian owned one and it would be pretty special for all of my friends to see me arrive in one. My mother said if I got my grades she would pay for me and two of my friends to ride in a Phantom for prom. This really encouraged me to work hard’

It does seem that Limo Broker simply understand the development of taste, seeing that the standard Lincoln Towncar does not excite as it used to.

It is reportedly not just prom vehicles that have taken a change in direction but the prom experience as a whole.

‘The humble school disco is almost a thing of the past, with an estimated 85% of UK secondary schools now holding a prom during June or July, the majority for 15- and 16-year-olds after their GCSEs. Estimates vary, but some reckon that British parents are now lavishing £30m a year on the parties.’ Explained Jill Papworth of The Guardian.

Where The Guardian honed in on the financial implications of such particular tastes Gareth Bookman, the sales manager at the firm claims that 2014 has been a record-breaking year for prom bookings, solely down to the excitement that such cars encourage’

‘The prom season has over the years just become more and more exciting. Where the standard limousine used to impress it no longer does. In 2014 we have seen a huge increase in bookings for parents hiring Lamborghini’s and Ferraris to drive their children to prom, spending over £1,000 for this service. Hummer Limousines, Fire Engines, Party Busses and Helicopter hire are also becoming more and more popular prom transport choices, the prom transport market has never looked so healthy’

He added that ‘ people just want to make the most of these occasions and come to us to make this happen.’

Would you pay £1,000 for prom transport? Share your thoughts on this with.

Steph Woods from X Factor hitched a ride with Cars for Stars

Twice X Factor evictee, Steph Woods, is definitely one to look out for! Last week she posted a picture on Twitter sprawled inside one of our Rolls Royce Phantoms! Things are definitely looking up for Steph and Cars for Stars was thrilled to be a part of her journey.

The young liverpudlian has had an epic musical adventure, especially when thinking back to her X Factor experiences. She first auditioned

for the ITV show at the very young of 14, back in 2007. Progressing all the way to judges houses, mentored by Sharon Osborne, her dream was then crushed. Claiming she was too young to handle the pressure, Sharon

regrettably decided to take her off the show.

Steph Woods returned to the show this year on learning of Sharon’s return to the judging panel. Having all her memories resurfaced she told that this would be her last shot at the X Factor, pulling on Sharon’s heartstrings throughout the series.

STEPHANIE WOODS AUDITION

When her 2013 X Factor

voyage ended at boot camp the country was devastated to see the back of her, especially Mrs O.

The rock stars wife spilled out her emotions towards Steph on the show and continues to talk about her in the press. In an interview entitled ‘My X Factor Special Moment’ featured in Women & Home Magazine Sharon presented her emotions on the page.

“Every so often an act wanders in that reminds me why I love doing it”

Sharon talks of Steph’s return to the show after 6 years from seeing her.

‘Fast-forward six years and she turned up to audition again this year, it was such an incredible moment, really humbling.”

We can safely say that Cars for Stars was greatly honoured to work with an up and coming British star like Steph!

Firefighters saw up stretch limousine

saw limoFirefighters in London have sawn up a stretch limousine to highlight the dangers of illegal limos in London. The stunt took place in Covent Garden yesterday where a team of firefighters from the London Fire Brigade sawed the doors off the novelty vehicle in front of bystanders and passers-by. It was part of a multi-organisation campaign to make people aware of the potential dangers that unlicensed and uninsured limos pose to the public. The London Ambulance Service, Transport For London and Met Police and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) were all supporting the cause.

The purpose of the operation was to demonstrate how difficult it was to free people trapped in the wreck of a limo after it’s been involved in an accident. Onlookers were informed about how the nature of limo doors makes restricted access to and from the vehicle, meaning that fire fighters often have to cut the sides off the limo to evacuate passengers. The fact that there is only a rear door, means rescue efforts are often hampered if there is limited access. It took the team of fire fighters to get the first ‘casualty’ out of the car.

Since 2012, 27 illegal limousines have been seized by agencies, and a further 232 banned from being driven on public roads.

The white stretch limousine which was cut up during the demonstration had actually been seized by authorities for carrying more than its licensed number of passengers and failing safety standards.

Fire Commissioner Ron Dobson said the demonstration was “a great opportunity for the public to see our skills in action, and hopefully it will make them think twice about hiring an illegal limo.”

London’s Transport Commissioner, Sir Peter Hendy, warned that firms operating unlicensed vehicles could be shut down. He also said “illegal limousines present a real threat and danger to the safety of people who hire them.”

Londoners are being reminded to make sure a limo operator is properly insured and licensed before they go about hiring a vehicle off them.

Heather Cruickshank, VOSA’s Operations Director said: “The majority of limousine operators are licensed and use their vehicles responsibly, but there is a sizeable minority that does not operate in this way – and the public must be alert to this risk.

“Only booking with licensed operators is the best way of minimising the risks to themselves and other road users – and helps send a clear message to those who chose to try and trade unlawfully.”

All-German Champion’s League Final looking likely

Uefa-Champions-LeagueWith just two matches left before the UEFA Champion’s League Final on May 25th, it’s going to be a tough couple of games for Real Madrid and Barcelona, who will both have to really pull their socks up if they’re going to make get a much-coveted place in the final. After having been beaten by Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich 4-1 and 4-0 respectively, both teams now have their work cut out if they don’t want to get knocked out. The first of the penultimate two matches (Real Madrid v Dortmund) kicks off tonight at 7:45pm from the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. After gaining one away goal in Germany, Real Madrid stand a slight chance of making a comeback, whereas the likelihood of Barcelona knocking out Bayern Munich at tomorrow’s game is nearly negligible.

So with an all-German final looking highly likely, thousands of Germans will be flocking to the capital for the big game, which is again being held in Wembley.

The luxury car hire industry goes through the roof during events like this, especially when two non-British teams reach the final of such a prestigious tournament, and it’s being held in Wembley. Public transport can be unreliable and hectic, overcrowded and inconvenient, so many turn to luxury car hire to get them to and from the stadium for the match, or to and from the airport.

Cars For Stars is the UK’s leading luxury car hire company, and covers everywhere in the UK. So if you’re one of the lucky fans going to cheer on your team at the Champion’s League Final 2013, have you considered hiring one of Cars For Stars’ chauffeur-driven vehicles to add that extra bit of luxury to your day? So call them today on 0844 567 9000 to book your swanky and dependable transport for the 25th May – the Champion’s League Final!
