Bugatti have had to come along way to confidently park alongside supercar brands such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, McLaren and Porsche, however, the new Chiron may put an end to the rivalry.

According to Car Magazine the brand are all set to unveil their most expense elite car yet, making the Veyron look like a boring old run-around. Featuring the impossible price tag of £1.7m we do feel a great sense of nostalgia when setting eyes on these images, with the car encompassing that same aura that we saw when the Veyron was unleashed on the roads.

Ability

The new Chiron will allegedly feature a quad-turbo 8.0 litre W16 engine, a 1,480 bhp, 106 lb-ft of torque, and a projected top speed of 288 mph, hitting 62 mph in a mere 2.3 seconds.

Undeniably impressive the car will take over the Veyron effortlessly, but does this warrant the huge price increase?

Name

‘Chinron’ is an extremely powerful name, with the car brand making reference to Greek Mythology’s superlative centaur Chinron/Cheiron/Kheiron. Mirroring many of the qualities of Apollo the mythical character was known for his youth-nurturing nature.

Boating the legs of a horse but the body of a human Chinron demonstrates status and heritage, the same qualities that the car aspires to embody.
