In the past ten years, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have made a conscious effort to target a younger and more trendy group of buyers.

These efforts include the introduction of the Ghost Sedan seven years ago, followed by the popular Wraith coupe in 2013, and the Dawn convertible two years ago.

The company’s efforts are proving to be popular and are working quite well.

In 2010, the average age of a Rolle-Royce customer fell from 56 years old to 45 years old.

However, Rolls is now pushing even further into its “youth” revolution with a menacingly stylish line-up for bespoke Black Badge models.

Last week, Rolls-Royce released the Black Badge edition of the Dawn- which joined the Wraith and Ghost versions.

In a statement, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said that, “Standing as a truly Bespoke response to the desires of a new breed of entrepreneur, Black Badge has already distinctly amplified the characters’ of Ghost and Wraith motor cars, placing them into consciousness of those that seek a commanding presence in the objects they commission,”

“Overwhelming demand from new patrons of luxury tells us the time is now right to apply this assertive, confident and powerful attitude to Dawn and open this truly transformative presence to the world.”

Every Black Badge Dawn are set to be individually commissioned, including options to suit the specific customer. Therefore, no Black badge cars will be identical.

To back up its sinister looks, the Black Badge Dawn is set to get a little extra oomph under its hood. However, its 6.6 litre, twin-turbocharged V12 engine will remain. Although horsepower ponies are set to be up by 30 to 593. Meanwhile, the suspension and eight-speed ZF satellite-assisted automatic transmission has been played with to make a more “dynamic” experience.

Rolls-Royce have stated that this model will be able to go from 0-60mph in only 4.9 seconds. It will also be able to reach an electrically limited top speed of approximately 155mph.

Its official world debut was made at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed on the weekend. However, its official pricing is still yet to be revealed. Although the standard Dawn usually sells for $335,000.
