BMW scooped a clutch of top awards at a prestigious industry event last week.

The premier car manufacturer was the recipient of seven gongs at the UK magazine BusinessCar’s awards ceremony. BMW took home two of the biggest awards of the night including Manufacturer of the Year, and the Environmental Award of the Year.

However the accolades didn’t end there as BMW also walked away with a number of awards for specific cars. The BMW 1-Series won Lower Medium Car of the year, while the 3-Series Saloon took home the Medium Car of the year trophy, and the 5-Series and Touring won the Executive Car of the Year, and the X5 was named Large 4×4 of the Year.

It’s been a good year for BMW as the manufacturer’s 3-Series was named best Compact Executive Car by What Car? earlier this year.

The winners were voted for by readers of BusinessCar magazine. The editor of the motoring magazine believes BMW has been a hit with the publication’s readers this year due to the brands “incredible efficiency” coupled with its desirability as a superb driving car and chauffeur driven vehicles for executive car hire.
