Do you remember when SUVs were simple? Every single one of them were quite rugged looking, roughly two tonnes heavy and had either 5 or 7 seats. Although every single one of us knew they were supposed to tackle mud, majority of us only every use them for the school run. However, in the last few years that brand has seriously changed, and the SUV isn’t always a tank. It can now be small, like a Kia Stonic, the Volvo XC90- or perhaps even the brand new Audi Q5.

The Audi Q5 is currently being tested by numerous parties which are interested in the compact, impressive motor. We’ve put together a little guide as to why we think the Q5 will prove to be a very popular purchase this summer.

Interior

One of the first things you will notice about the Q5’s cabin is the Virtual Cockpit System, with a huge 12.2inch display, the cockpit system is one of the best infotainment systems available. Mainly because it’s so easy to customise. Whether you want to select songs from a paired phone, or add a new destination to the satnav, all can be done on the 1,440×540 pixel screen. It will also display speed and revs more prominently; all this takes are a few clicks on the steering wheel.

 Satellite Navigation

As well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the Q5 comes equipped with its very own tailor-made software. The satnav system can produce succinct routes quickly and accurately, which displays each step in good time.

Driving Assistance

The new motor also uses technology in order to make driving less stressful. It’s equipped with traffic jam-assist, which is designed to take the hassle out of driving. According to documents, this allows the car to follow cars ahead at speeds of 40.4mph. It does this by using sensors and a front-facing camera. The price? Roughly one or two thousand pounds, this of course depends on which model you plan on adding it to.

Verdict

The Audi Q5 is a very well put together motor by the manufacturer. They are slowly refreshing its range and binging impressive features to its models such as the Virtual

Cockpit. It is certainly the most compact and city-friendly sized SUV on the market today.
